This is the moment when the doula introduces herself to her potential clients, like a business card showcasing her resources and proposals in the form of a presentation. You will find PDF templates in Classroom.
The doula needs to know everything about the perinatal process and procedures in order to instruct the pregnant woman and her family about the change in routine for the birth.
This guide is important for understanding and knowing how to advise pregnant women about their babies and essential care.

Job market opportunities
The purpose and role of a doula is to assist pregnant women physically, emotionally, and with information, helping them feel safe and comfortable through knowledge of perinatal processes. These support and care professionals ensure that pregnant women understand their rights to humanized childbirth so that they can go through the process of giving birth in a way that is conscious of their choices and welcoming.
There are institutions that promote volunteer programs for doulas, giving these professionals the opportunity to provide care to pregnant women on a voluntary basis, making a big difference in these women’s maternity and providing great help to the community. This is also a great way for new doulas to gain experience and practice for the profession.

Frequently asked questions
To be a doula, you need to be detached, loving, compassionate, and willing to serve another woman who wants to experience a normal birth in a country that holds the world record for C-sections. You need to know how to respect a woman’s decisions, even if you don’t agree with them. You need to have time to devote to another person and identify with the movement to humanize childbirth. You don’t necessarily have to be an activist. But you need to be outraged by our obstetric reality.
No, to be a doula, you don’t need to have children, have had a normal delivery, or have breastfed. If that were a criterion, there would be no male midwives or obstetricians. It is the woman who decides the profile of the doula she wants by her side. The doula needs to be dedicated and committed to being part of the entire process of labor, birth, and breastfeeding. Having gone through childbirth or being a mother may make things easier at times, but it will not make you a better or worse doula than someone who has never conceived, given birth, or breastfed. What will help you become a doula with good references are your experiences and your efforts to always learn more by taking courses or reading books.
For other cities and locations abroad, the course is taught via live videoconference, ensuring full interaction between students and teachers. We emphasize that this is not distance learning, and all classes are recorded and available on our Google Classroom platform for 90 days for students to access.
Everyone is welcome, men or women. Some countries already have doulas caring for pregnant women, and we understand that the choice of a doula should always be made by the pregnant woman. Doula ends up being the most commonly used term because it is a profession sought after more by women.
Anyone who feels an affinity with the world of pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum care, who is over 18 years of age, and who can read and write, regardless of their educational background.
The course aims to train and raise awareness among doulas of their role in obstetrics as professional companions, always observing the limits of their scope of care and following the ethical precepts of the doula profession. Within these principles, doulas will have the tools to assist pregnant women in achieving their desired birth, will be able to serve them during labor, and support them in the postpartum/breastfeeding period. They will always provide information based on evidence and scientific proof to raise awareness among pregnant women so that they can go through this experience in the most positive and physiological way possible, without interventions and respecting this beautiful moment.
Our program stands out from other existing courses due to the harmony between the theoretical content that will be covered and the dynamics, practices, and experiences that will be taught by professionals with extensive experience in the field of humanized childbirth. Our program covers all the support that a doula should provide, from pregnancy to postpartum, always guiding these women with information based on evidence and scientific proof, helping to make this process more positive!
We know that many who wish to take the course are mothers with babies who are still breastfeeding or have small children who cannot be left alone. Our course aims to welcome everyone who wants to participate in this very special moment. Therefore, women with small children can participate in the course, as long as the student brings a caregiver to stay with her baby. Babies, even small ones, cannot stand being in a room for so long. Therefore, this baby can be taken to the lecture and training venue to be breastfed and while sleeping. In order to ensure total harmony among all participants, with or without children, we will give some instructions so that the presence of your babies does not interfere with the course.
If the student wishes, yes. Similarly, children will not be allowed to stay in the same space where the activities will take place, so the student must arrange for a caregiver for the children.
The theoretical part will be included, that is, 40 hours of theoretical classes, the course book, the Successful Doula program, and participation in our institution’s Telegram support network group to answer any questions you may have!
Our course was planned after extensive research and courses we took to structure the best way to convey our information and experiences. In this course, we highlight the main difficulties we faced at the beginning of our careers, such as relationships with professionals in the field of humanization, and we also share what we wish we had learned in the courses we participated in! We bring together highly competent and renowned professionals in the field of humanization and birth in Brazil.
Yes. The certificate is sufficient to identify you as a trained doula. There are state laws that allow doulas to enter the delivery room with the pregnant woman, in addition to a companion of her choice (check the doula law in your state). In practice, there are hospitals that do not allow doulas and hospitals that do allow doulas. In some states, we already have state laws that support us in providing care within hospitals. Among the hospitals that accept the presence of a doula freely chosen by the woman, there is no distinction between the schools that offer these courses. It would be illegal and discriminatory since the CBO classifies doula training courses as free. Remember that only students who complete the entire course load of the theoretical part will receive the training certificate.
